A blog is a discussion or informational website published on the World Wide Web consisting of discrete, often informal diary-style text entries (posts). Posts are typically displayed in reverse chronological order, so that the most recent post appears first, at the top of the web page.So linear versus non-linear thinking, information, and structuring of information.
Looking to educate myself a little, I stopped at my first find. For a nice article about linear vs non-linear thinking, check out Cecil Charles McCumber' post on his blog, Chuck's LAMP: What kind of thinker am I? Linear vs. Non-linear thinking.
In some ways, I'm pretty sure I'm a linear thinker. I've always felt really good about my programming skills, my ability to handle many tasks, sticking to top priorities, etc.
In many other ways, though, I see myself as very much a non-linear thinker. I easily see "big pictures", I have a wildly creative side, etc.
All of that to say: I think I need to put some thinking into my blogging process, which will evolve over time as I manage my intertwingulitis with a wiki sister site.
When I first started this blog, I had intended on mirroring the content of this blog with a structured site created with Google Sites. That wasn't working out for me because Google Sites, although ridiculously easy to work with, just can't handle intertwingled content all that well.
So I'm rebooting that plan with a different product: I've created a Tiddly Wiki sister site to this blog: Intertwingularity Slice 'n Dice - Wiki.
As I work on "process" and "structure" with the help of the wiki, that sister site will also showcase how, to me, wikis provide the best way of taming intertwingulitis.
Well, there it is. Not quite written the way I had thought, but it will have to do for now.
Cheers !
